Who You Are:

IMG is looking for a multiskilled Creative Motion & Graphic Designer to work with one of our longest-standing clients, The R&A. The role would be working directly on two of the most prestigious championships in golf, The Open and AIG Women’s Open, as part of an expanding content team with a growing remit.


IMG Digital are part of IMG, the largest global sports marketing agency in the world and have a wide range of clients from Wimbledon, The UFC, The R&A, NBA, Premier League, NFL and many more.


What You’ll Do

We are looking for a passionate & talented Creative Motion & Graphic Designer, ideally with an interest in golf and the wider sporting landscape – across both men & women’s sport. Your work will be published across The Open and AIG Women’s Open owned and operated digital channels, from social media through to website and email communications.


The candidate should be an expert in creative content and graphic design, whilst being able to transfer those skills into exciting motion graphical content. They will need a proactive mindset, not just delivering against briefs, but providing creative ideation and inspiration across the R&A’s content & marketing portfolio.


Proficiency in the normal design tools of the trade such as InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop and After Effects is essential as these will be used in a variety of different ways throughout their day. Responsibilities will change daily keeping variety in the workflow.

Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To:

  • Drive end-to-end creative development – Ideation through to Delivery – of engaging motion and animation assets for a wide range of creative video edits and projects that will live across broadcast, digital, social, partner, branded content and promotional / experiential purposes.
  • Support the wider R&A content team through the creation of innovative ideas and hygiene graphics, digital campaigns, and branding.
  • Ideate and develop concepts in collaboration with the content team and account managers.
  • Bring a ‘producer mindset’, exploring creative ways to drive engagement.
  • Produce engaging designs, graphic elements, motion assets, and visual treatments.
  • Work with the wider content team to ensure all briefs are clear, concise, and aligned, making sure reasonable timelines are set and output is delivered on time.
  • Good communication across project leads and ability to manage upwards.
  • Ensure brand continuity is delivered through content visuals across our various Championship and membership brands.
  • Support the wider marketing and brand function where required.


You Will Have The Following Strengths:

  • Bachelor’s degree in design required or equivalent experience.
  • Work experience in a similar role.
  • A portfolio which demonstrates exceptional levels of creativity.
  • Advanced skills in Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator. After Effect and PowerPoint as a plus.
  • The ability to work with templates and style guides to deliver high-quality creative.
  • Work that demonstrates an ability to experiment, develop and resolve authentic creative outputs.
  • Background in the sports industry or have an interest in sports design and golf.
  • Experience producing graphics for live sport or broadcast programming.
  • Experience editing video projects on Premiere Pro.
  • Understanding of live graphics design process and implementation.
  • Illustration skills.
  • A working knowledge of AI related to the field and how it can support in the delivery of the role.
  • Ability to communicate ideas clearly (both visually and verbally) with both internal and external presentations.
  • Great attention to detail, a problem-solving mindset, and a drive to develop. They should be aware of current design trends and be able to offer innovative ideas.
  • Good time management when working towards conflicting deadlines.
  • Confidence to initiate design ideas, communicate clearly and ask questions.
  • Attention to detail, ensuring to maintain high quality standards.
  • Self-motivated, with the ability to take initiative to drive creative thinking.
  • Ability to collaborate and work both independently and alongside team members.
  • Confident to work independently over a range of design aspects across a diverse range of clients.
  • Open-minded and receptive approach to feedback.
