Senior Product Designer (Payments/FinTech)

RealPage is looking to add a Senior Product Designer to our fast-growing Payments Buisness! The User Experience team at RealPage advocates for customers in all phases of product development. You see business problems as human problems and know how to design for the success of the user. You are curious about the persona you serve. You employ a variety of methods in your toolbox to document their goals and what about their current situation frustrates their goals. You’re a great strategic partner with product and development to strategize a solution that delivers value to renters, property managers, and RealPage. You create designs to achieve this strategy using a mature design system and measure for user success throughout the process. We're looking for a portfolio that reflects more than visuals of the final product, but also the steps taken to get there and measurable results. Ideal candidates will have a strong emphasis conversion optimization in consumer spaces.

Primary Responsibilities

Senior Product Designers lead a design pod in their partnership with product and development teams. Their UX colleagues in the pod are a researcher and an interaction designer. The senior product designer is responsible break down a big, blurry problem statement into clear, releasable increments that create value for stakeholders. They do this by partnering with product and development to collaborate on desired business outcomes and feasibility, while representing their users and designing for their success. Effective senior designers work directly with enrolled customers across the product development lifecycle to understand their goals and frustrations. They measure this frustration in order to quantify the success of their solutions and articulate value via user outcomes. Their work is at the heart of excellent, evidence-base go to market storytelling.

  • 8+ years of product design experience for software; desktop and mobile applications with a focus on consumer experiences and conversion optimization.
  • Seasoned at learning about users, their goals and the journeys.
  • Experience in a Financial Services/Payments/MSB highly preferred.
  • Evidence of measuring user success and quantifying value delivered.
  • A strategic partner to business and development teammates, with deep awareness of their concerns
  • Strong conceptualization and story-telling ability
  • Skilled at scoping and sequencing work to maximize continuous value delivery.
  • Synthesizes varied stakeholder input into testable design hypothesis.
  • Excellent workshop facilitator.
  • Strong working knowledge of Figma or similar prototyping software.
  • Experience with user interface design patterns and standard UCD methodologies
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills (very important)
  • Fluent in common software project management practices
  • A curious, self-driven, relentless optimist!
  • A mentor and coach for junior designers
  • 4-year+ degree, BA or BS in design, information sciences, HCI preferred
