RTI International has an opening for a Graphic Designer who will provide ideation, branding, design and execution to digital and print initiatives on a variety of platforms.

Along with exceptional design and conceptual skills, the ideal candidate must be proficient in client communication, branding, and data visualization multi-tasking.

Collaborates with internal authors and stakeholders to design complex graphics for documents and publications.

A successful candidate will be able to demonstrate their abilities to create visually stunning materials for various audiences and across platforms. They can collaborate in a team-oriented fast-paced, deadline driven environment.


  • Following best practices, templates, and the appropriate style guide, designs complex print and electronic forms of visual information. Projects may include figures, graphics, scientific posters, infographics, medical illustrations, and redesign of complex slide sets.
  • Collaborates with and assists other designers when needed.
  • Understands and implements proper use of internal and client brand and identity guidelines.
  • Designs visual information with the end user in mind, with the goal of improving understanding and clarity.
  • Ensures projects meet internal and client specifications and adhere to a high-quality standard.
  • Closely follows and engages with existing project schedules.
  • Meets with project teams to discuss project goals/objectives, intended audience, specific information to be presented, and client expectations.
  • Ability to multi-task across multiple deliverables and projects


  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree and 3 years of experience or a Master’s degree and one year of experience.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with fellow designers, editors, writers, supervisors, and other staff.
  • Ability to support a diverse group of internal customers and adapt working style to accommodate a variety of personalities and needs.
  • Ability to prioritize workload and make decisions about what to accomplish when faced with competing needs, including asking for help from team.
  • Ability to listen and communicate well both verbally and in writing.
  • Knowledge of the fundamentals of design and ability to decide which fundamentals are relevant, engaging, and useful for a particular design.
  • Knowledge of style guides, particularly the business unit specific branding and design style guides.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat, Illustrator, and InDesign.
  • Familiarity with technical terminology. Knowledge of the business and ability to understand and communicate the value added by the graphic design function.
