Visit Seattle is now hiring a creative, collaborative, enthusiastic, and innovative Seattle-based Web Designer to support our dynamic and diverse marketing team. By creating effective and engaging web experiences to present our brand, activations, and services, the successful candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams to understand our target audience, support our vision, and drive traffic to the region. Preferred candidates will have a strong background in WordPress and will play a pivotal role in creating and maintaining visually stunning and high-performance websites and digital activations.

What You’ll Do

  • Collaborate closely with the Creative Director and Marketing Director to design, upgrade and maintain Visit Seattle's Wordpress-based websites with regular updates to content and features.
  • Customize Wordpress themes, manage and utilize plugins, and ensure seamless integration of PHP scripts when needed.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders and designers to enhance and update site structure, page construction, and SEO.
  • Assist in creating new web pages or content modules for corporate websites.
  • Act as the point of contact for all website requests, coordinating with our external web developer team to execute larger requests.
  • Aid in planning and preparing for digital tradeshow activations.
  • Provide design support for other marketing and internal communications materials as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Who You Are

Ideal Web Designer qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in web design, Graphic Design, Marketing, Communications, or related fields, or equivalent academic/work experience.
  • High proficiency in WordPress, Adobe Creative Suite, Figma (or similar wire-framing tools).
  • Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript; familiarity with PHP is a plus.
  • Experience with responsive web design and mobile optimization.
  • Familiarity with WordPress themes, plugins, and customization.
  • Experience in SEO, including the use of tools like Google Analytics.
  • Proficiency in UX design for both mobile and desktop experiences.
  • Interaction design skills that demonstrate clear understanding of how an experience should behave based on user needs and corporate goals
  • Digital animation and video editing skills are a plus.
  • Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to easily identify design inconsistencies in color, spacing, fonts, etc.
  • Strong work ethic, capable of handling multiple assignments under pressure while maintaining quality.
  • Proficiency on both Mac (primary) and Windows (secondary) platforms.
  • Strong customer service orientation, with the ability to accept and apply constructive criticism from internal and external clients.
  • Creative, collaborative, enthusiastic, and innovative.
  • Commitment to excellence in both product and process.
  • Ability to exercise initiative, judgment, diplomacy, and maintain confidentiality in various situations.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, capable of handling multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent interpersonal, writing, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, etc.).
  • Ability to speak, read, write, and understand English, the primary language used in the workplace.

Who You’ll Work With

You’ll work with the Creative Director, in addition to working very closely with department head colleagues in Convention Sales and Services, plus all salespeople. In addition, you’ll often collaborate with other departments including Partnership, Marketing, Cultural Tourism, Public Relations, Public Affairs and International Tourism.

  • You'll receive a 401k with up to a 5% company match.
  • Starting salary range is $75k to $84k with up to a 8% annual incentive.
