Job Description

As a Senior Product Designer, in the Digital Health unit, you will join our design team to drive outcomes by creating elegant user-centered product solutions. The ideal candidate is a critical contributor, that will lead the research, user experience, and interface design of responsive web-based applications, embedded software applications, and digital services. Working directly with a product manager, engineering lead, and a team of engineers, this employee will work both strategically and hands-on to drive outcomes and launch zero-to-one digital solutions. This candidate will also be a valued mentor, coach, and supports other designers on the team to maximize their usage of human-centered design principals.

Job Duties

  • Work strategically as a partner with product management, engineering, and design leadership to define and design next generation products 0-1 that improve clinician tools and patient outcomes
  • Think big, and explore divergent concepts while understanding how to converge and build iteratively towards a vision
  • Create high-quality mockups and interactive prototypes to communicate your work
  • Own the end-to-end design process including, user research, data analysis, problem definition, UX design, UI design, and prototyping
  • Lead workshops, brainstorming sessions, and other design thinking exercises
  • Advocate for design by sharing your work and presenting cross-functionally. Be able to precisely articulate design rationale and goals
  • Inspire the Digital Health team and our internal partners by bringing innovative ideas to the table and defining next-generation user interfaces
  • Contribute to a supportive design culture within the Olympus Digital Health team, including collaborating with other designers and participating in design critiques and reviews
  • Help lead innovation across the organization by driving the adoption of user-centered processes, methodologies, and tools

Job Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in User Experience, Design, or related field required.
  • Masters, PhD, or equivalent experience in User Experience, Design, or related field preferred.
  • 6+ years of experience working in product design, working end-to-end across the design process to build zero-to-one solutions.
  • Strong portfolio of shipped digital products (web, mobile, and embedded applications)
  • 6+ years' experience designing user-centered responsive web applications.
  • 6+ years' experience designing across multiple platforms (Web, Mobile, Embedded, etc).
  • 6+ years working as part of a product team in an agile environment.
  • 6+ years of experience working on design systems/design systems team.
  • Other Considerations (travel/hours availability, etc.): Travel required (US and International).

Preferred:

  • Highly proficient with current design and prototyping tools (Figma).
  • Excellent presentation and documentation skills.
  • Excellence in visual design craft.
  • Ability to work with a low-ego, highly collaborative, cross-functional team.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Medical technology or healthcare experience preferred, although not required.
  • Experience with Human Factors Engineering.
  • Experience with Software as a Medical Device (SaMD) .
  • Availability to attend meetings with team members spread out around the globe.

The anticipated base pay range for this full-time position working at this location is $100,022.00 - $140,032.00 / year, plus potential for annual bonus (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements). Olympus considers a variety of factors when determining actual compensation for this position including: level of experience, working location, and relevant education and certifications.
