Product Designer 2

Job description

Are you a product focused UXer who’s designed data-driven business applications and experiences across the web and mobile? This could be the role for you!

Microsoft’s Cloud + AI Design Studios is looking for a Product Designer 2 to join the Power Pages design team – where they will plan, lead, and help drive the direction for data-driven experiences across both the maker and creator space.

The Company And Team

At Microsoft, we have a clear mission and bold ambitions: Empower every person and every organization on the planet to achieve more through our technology and innovation. To make that a reality, our Power Pages team is charged with crafting solutions that help our customers engage their customers, empower their employees, optimize their operations, or change the very nature of their business through secure, low-code business websites. Our goal is to democratize website authoring by making it simple for everyone.

Our vision as a Design Studio:

  • Design experiences customers love.
  • Work as a unified team.
  • Deliver success.
  • Become even better every day.

Who Will Be Successful In This Role

You’re a Product Designer 2 who thrives in fast-paced environments where the only constant is change. You handle ambiguity with grace by remaining laser-focused on the end user and their needs. You enjoy breaking down highly complex problems and building principles and systems to ensure they are solved consistently and holistically across product and platform.

You love to learn, solve challenges, and dream up breakthrough ideas. You’re a tireless advocate for the customer—enthusiastic about building and iterating on designs to discover what works best and applying your knowledge to create incredible software products. You're passionate about your interests, and you want to work on projects that will change the world for the better.

You understand how to bring a team together to solve difficult product and customer problems, fixing what's not quite right and smoothing the customer’s journey through the product. You to find ways to reduce complexity, remove the extraneous, and shorten the path to “Wow!”

You're fluent at communicating with product managers and developers as well as influencing your team and studio to simplify, integrate, and co-create successful customer experiences that work together.

Responsibilities

In this role, as a Product Designer 2 you will design experiences with a broad charter that impacts creators, developers, and end-users. This will involve working closely with external partners, other designers, researchers, Engineers and leadership in the planning, development, and operations of innovative data-driven features and capabilities. These solutions will allow customers to collect, manage and display organizational data on their websites both safely and securely. You will be responsible for end-to-end experiences that allow makers to build complex customer facing forms, dashboards, lists and many other data-driven components as well as manipulate and integrate organizational data into their company websites. You will focus heavily on leveraging emerging AI technologies to support makers in solving key problems and accomplishing tasks. You need to be able to design powerful solutions whilst maintaining a focus on the coherence of the product and designing a system that is agnostic at heart and forms the basis of the platform.
