Senior Product Designer

Location: Hybrid - occasional travel to London

Salary: £70-£80,000 DOE

We have ambitious growth plans over the coming years and will be focussing on our digital transformation journey to aid us in our success.

As our new Senior Product Designer you will play a crucial role in the development of new digital products and services or the improvement of existing ones, bridging the gap between user needs, business goals, and technical feasibility.

You will be responsible for translating complex problems into elegant design solutions, advocating for user-centric design principles, and iterating designs based on feedback and data to create elegant, impactful and innovative products.

Also, it will be up to you to be responsible for nurturing, mentoring and influencing other team members and stakeholders leading to positive business outcomes.

You and your role:

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers, engineers, and stakeholders, to generate ideas and concepts for new products or product enhancements.
• Develop user flows, wireframes, and prototypes to effectively communicate design ideas and interactions.
• Design beautiful, simple, elegant interfaces that align with the product's brand and target audience.
• Define and design the interactions and micro-interactions within the product. Ensure consistency and coherence in the overall user experience.
• Conduct user research to understand user needs, pain points, and behaviour. Gather insights through methods such as interviews, surveys, and usability testing.
• Develop and maintain design systems, style guides, and UI pattern libraries to ensure consistency across products and platforms.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams, including product managers, engineers, and stakeholders, to understand requirements, provide design insights, and contribute to the product development process.
• Advocate for accessible and inclusive design practices, ensuring products are usable by individuals with disabilities and diverse user groups.
• Keep abreast of industry trends, emerging design patterns, and technologies. Share knowledge and contribute to the growth of the design team.
  
  

Essential Skills:

• Good writing skills, with the ability to write and structure content.
• Effective communication skills and the ability to express views and ideas both verbally and in writing.
• Experience in negotiating and influencing others including peer groups and those in senior positions.
• A strong understanding of agile practices and how they help deliver products/services and a keen understanding of SEO practices.
• Experience in evaluating and analysing information and data to propose improvements to content to ensure users’ needs are met.
  
  

Desirable Skills:

• Degree in HCI/Usability/Design or related field
