Offshore Wind Cable Design Manager

DEME-Group is searching for a motivated Design Manager to reinforce our offshore wind cable (export and inter-array) design team. If you are an experienced professional with engineering expertise in the offshore wind cable domain, or relevant industry, this is an excellent opportunity to join an experienced team of engineers specialized in the successful delivery of design-build (EPCI) cable and balance of plant (BoP) projects. As a design manager, you will be leading the cable design phase of one of our offshore wind projects or tenders. Together, we work on DEME’s vision of creating a sustainable future.

Your responsibilities

• Provide Interface management with clients, consortium parties and other contractors on large cable projects.
• Lead the cable design process aimed at delivering an optimal solution considering the full project life cycle, stakeholder requirements, and Client’s success criteria.
• Interface with a multi-disciplinary team of engineers and specialists for solving complex project challenges related to the design, fabrication, installation, protection, and operation of offshore wind farms.
• Provide engineering expertise and advice to support the successful execution of our offshore wind cable projects and tenders.
• Support the commercial tendering process by reviewing tender documents and providing technical support to contractual Client meetings.
• Assist in the selection and contracting process of third-party cable and cable protection system suppliers.
• Initiate and maintain design management tools throughout various design phases, including a design time schedule, opportunity and risk register, design decision register, and design management plan.
• Lead and/or support in a range of innovative internal research and development studies.

Your profile

• Academic degree in electrical, civil, mechanical, or marine engineering;
• at least 5 years of relevant working experience in offshore wind industry;
• experience in leading engineering and design processes;
• strong critical and conceptual thinking skills;
• team player demonstrating initiative and effective communication skills;
• fluent in verbal and written English;
