Job description

The Windows Set Design Manager is a newly created role within the Windows team, reporting to the Head of Windows, working closely with the Visual Concepts Manager in Creative Direction to translate visual concepts into windows specific set design.


This role is responsible for creating ground breaking sets that make up Selfridges iconic windows whilst successfully following the visual concept brief by working closely with the Visual Concepts Designer. The role works closely with the Senior Windows Visualiser to produce world class visuals from sketches to moodboards that clearly communicate the set design for both creative sign off and production, delivering the objective of creating ‘world building’ designs.


As Windows Set Design Manager, you will –

• Take the visual build briefs from the Visual Concepts Manager to create detailed plans of how the concepts will come to life across different window sets.

• Develop sketches, models and visuals to show how the design will manifest across the window run.

• Collaborate with the creative direction team to understand the concepts, vision, and objectives for window displays to develop the ideas successfully.

• Create and present mock-ups and mood boards to communicate design concepts effectively.

• Collaborate with the Windows Production and Styling and Prop teams to ensure the accurate execution of designs, considering technical and logistical aspects.

• Continuously gather feedback and insights on the performance and reception of window displays, making adjustments as needed.

How you’ll do it…you will be:

• Be a highly skilled in set design and able to create impactful, unexpected, and compelling window designs.

• Be able to understand Selfridges wider creative vision, and how this can translate into brand design.

• Have incredible attention to detail to ensure the windows designs are industry leading

• Strong organisation skills

• Strong communication skills to ensure the windows designs are understood and executed successfully.

• Be highly creative h in order to develop and deliver ideas that create exceptional results.

• Be resourceful and quick thinking to be able to respond swiftly to potential issues on installation

• The ability to work in a face paced environment

• Strong communication skills

• Have good influencing and stakeholder management skills; Able to work effectively cross-functionally with the multiple Windows and VM teams.

• Have a deep appreciation and affinity with the Selfridges brand and an inherent understanding and appreciation for Selfridges’ values.
