This Junior Product Design position is a mainly remote working position, our team meet on a monthly basis in either the Watford office or an offsite location in the South of England. What you’ll do: As a Junior Product Designer based remotely, you will be part of a friendly, collaborative product design team, working with other Product Designers, User Researchers, customers and a range of business functions as appropriate to the task in hand. You will promote and apply user-centred and evidence-based design best practices to truly understand the needs and motivations of our end users and define design solutions that effectively meet those needs and the requirements of the business. We’re looking for a keen collaborator and communicator, someone proactive in engagement with stakeholders, comfortable supporting our Product Design Manager by participating in stand ups and with a natural curiosity, eager to delve into a problem to understand the root cause. With the support of the wider design team, you will have the opportunity to continuously learn, grow and flourish as a Product Designer working across an exciting product portfolio. This is a really exciting opportunity for a Junior Product Designer with the theoretical or hands on knowledge of the full product design process. Other key responsibilities and accountabilities will include; Identify the types of UX activities and deliverables required for specific requirements. Develop user journeys, task flows, storyboards, wireframes and prototypes in order to communicate interaction and design ideas, as well as validate assumptions and solutions with users, business and technology. Proactively engage with stakeholders to capture requirements Can evolve concepts to detailed design solutions Who you’ll be You either will be looking for your first Product Design position after qualification or with hands on experience with a passion for innovation and focusing design solutions on end user needs. As a Junior Product Designer you will receive support from our Product Design Manager on day-to-day activities including wireframing and prototyping with the opportunity to develop more independently. You will be inquisitive and empathetic, seeking to understand the needs of our customers and internal stakeholders through proactive collaboration. We would like you to have an understanding of user research methodologies and how to apply appropriate research techniques to provide rationale to your designs. Collaboration and communication is essential. You will embrace cross-functional working with our Product, Engineering and departments, articulating insights and design decisions that effectively meet both business requirements and user needs. Other essential skills we are looking for: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills Familiar with Figma, using a shared Design System to deliver hi fidelity designs and has evolving experience on prototyping for testing & demos. Good ability to clearly communicate design decisions based on user and other relevant insights.
