refurbed

Product Designer (f/m/x)

Job description

Do you want to use your passion and talent to make consumption more sustainable?

We're Europe's fastest-growing marketplace for refurbished products, empowering customers to acquire items up to 40% cheaper while making a substantial impact on reducing CO2 emissions compared to buying new devices.

Since our launch in February 2017, we grew to more than 300 employees and expanded across the European region. Throughout this journey, we've successfully concluded three substantial funding rounds, selling hundreds of thousands of products. Thanks to our team's efforts, we were recognized as the Top Employer in the DACH region (2023 and 2024) by Kununu and secured the title of an ACM Preferred Employer (2023).

As a Product Designer (f/m/x) you will join our Activation & Re-Activation squad in the consumer-facing tribe to design experiences that delight our users and have a measurable impact on business results. You will also become an integral part of our UX organization, joining designers, researchers, a UX writer, a UX engineer, and dedicated team leads.

Product Designers work closely with Product Management, Engineering, fellow UXers, and their stakeholders. Key to refurbed's success is our ability to experiment quickly, learn from insights, and have a bias towards action and iteration.

What you will do:

  • Measurably improve refurbed’s active users while being the responsible designer for refurbed’s homepage, sign-in/sign-up, trade-in program (BuyBack), and more
  • Collaborate with business, technical, marketing, and UX roles to understand user and business needs and translate them into effective, appealing solutions
  • Design and prototype at all levels of fidelity, from small experiments to complex journeys
  • Carry out qualitative user research efforts such as moderated interviews or unmoderated usability tests, in partnership with UX Research or independently
  • Actively participate in and lead cross-functional meetings and workshops to foster a user-centered design process
  • Contribute to our design system (Jellyfish) while honoring our brand guidelines

Who you are:

  • You have 2+ years of experience in a UI, UX, or Product Design role in a cross-functional agile team, with a supporting portfolio featuring mobile-first responsive designs
  • You bring a wide range of UX skills and are self-sufficient when it comes to Interaction Design, Visual Design, Prototyping, and Qualitative Research
  • You understand what it takes to measurably improve an experience
  • You have excellent English skills to present design work, facilitate workshops, and articulate design decisions
  • You seek feedback out actively from users, colleagues, and leaders, celebrate successes, and share your learnings openly, so others can benefit from your experiences
  • You understand that the team stands above every individual and that the best way to improve a team is to lead by example

Additional factors we appreciate:

  • Skilled at Information Architecture, Quantitative Research, and Service Design
  • Track record of successfully managing projects and stakeholders beyond your cross-functional squad or the UX team
  • Domain experience with e-commerce or marketplaces

WHY YOU WILL ENJOY WORKING WITH US

Our Culture and Values:

  • Decisions should be made based on facts and not by hierarchy levels? We sure think so!
  • We embrace giving and receiving feedback, testing and welcoming new ideas, as well as sharing our knowledge across the company.
  • You fail sometimes? Well, so do we! We’re all just human, let’s not cry about it but learn from our mistakes to improve in the future!
  • No matter who you love, where you’re from, who you pray to, whether you pee sitting down or standing up – we are a bunch of talented people who enjoy spending our time making a difference!

Personal & Professional Development:

  • You can take unlimited number of trainings we are offering you through LinkedIn learning.
  • Additionally, we are partnering with Likeminded, offering you private sessions with experts for your personal growth and mental health.

Flexibility:

  • We trust you to do the best job, so we don't care so much when you do it – you are able to self-organize.
  • Work from home or in our modern and sustainable office in the heart of Vienna – we love dogs, so feel free to bring your furry little buddy too. And yes, there are free fruit, coffee & drinks in the office 😊

Please let the company know that you found this position on this Job Board as a way to support us, so we can keep posting cool jobs.
