Senior Product Designer

We're currently seeking an experienced Senior Product Designer to join our team as a consultant on the FEMA GO project, a vital initiative aimed at transforming the way FEMA operates.

• Lead design initiatives from conception to completion, including user research, project definition, wireframing, prototyping, and high-fidelity design.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams, including product managers, engineers, clients, and other stakeholders, to define and implement innovative and effective design solutions for the FEMA GO project.
• Utilize Figma to create high-quality design artifacts, such as components and design systems, ensuring they are user-centric and visually compelling.
• Build and maintain a coherent visual language across our products by leveraging your experience working with design systems and guidelines.
• Apply your understanding of React component-based design principles to create reusable and maintainable designs.
• Conduct user research, usability testing, and other data-driven methods to inform design decisions and validate design solutions.
• Foster a culture of design thinking across the organization, advocating for the user and driving a consistent user experience across all touchpoints.
• Demonstrate excellent soft skills, including effective communication, collaboration, and client management.#L
  
  

Required:

• Typically requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Information systems, business systems, management information systems, IT Management, or other IT degree and a minimum of 5-8 years of relevant experience in a product design role, preferably within a consulting, government, or agile environment (Engineering, math, and/or science degrees are acceptable substitute degrees)
• Expertise in using Figma for UI/UX design, including creating and managing components and design systems.
• Proven experience working with design systems, creating and maintaining style guides, and ensuring consistency across products.
• Strong understanding of React and its component-based design principles.
• Exceptional visual design skills, with a solid understanding of typography, color, layout, and hierarchy.
• Comprehensive understanding of user-centered design methodologies, including user research, usability testing, and data-driven design.
• Demonstrated leadership in managing and leading ambiguous projects from research and project definition to completion.
• Exceptional communication and collaboration skills, with a proven ability to work effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
• Experience working with clients and managing client relationships.
• A compelling portfolio demonstrating your design leadership, skills, and experience across a variety of projects.
• US citizenship and the ability to obtain a public trust clearance.

• Experience working in government consulting or with US Digital Services organization
• User Experience Design Certificate(s)

In accordance with pay transparency guidelines, the proposed salary range for this position is $91,000 to $117,000. Final salary will be determined based on various factors such as relevant skills, experience and certifications.
