The Dream Factory was established as an all-volunteer wish-granting organization in 1980. In the past thirty plus years, it has grown into one of the nations largest wish-granting organizations with local chapters across the country and a national Headquarters in Louisville, Kentucky.

The Dream Factory is about children critically and chronically ill children whose lives have been challenged in ways that the average person cannot comprehend.

The Dream Factory exists to bring some happiness into these lives. As a Dream Factory volunteer, you will interact with children and their families, with other volunteers, members of the medical community and social services agencies, and with donors, sponsors and other members of the community.

Position Overview

We are seeking a talented and creative Volunteer Graphic Designer to join our team. This role is perfect for someone who is passionate about using their design skills to make a positive impact in the community. The Volunteer Graphic Designer will work closely with our marketing and project teams to create visually compelling materials that support our mission.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and produce marketing materials, including flyers, posters, email campaigns, and social media content that align with our brand identity.
  • Collaborate with the team to understand project requirements and contribute creative ideas for campaigns and events.
  • Ensure all designs are visually appealing and communicate the intended message to the target audience.
  • Assist in the development of branding materials for new programs or initiatives.
  • Provide support for website design and content creation, ensuring a cohesive online presence.
  • Manage multiple projects from concept through completion under tight deadlines.

Qualifications

  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and other graphic design software like Canva.
  • Strong portfolio showcasing a variety of design work, including digital and print materials.
  • Excellent visual design skills with sensitivity to user-system interaction.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to receive feedback constructively.
  • Passion for community service and a strong belief in the Dream Factory of Brooklyn's mission.
  • Previous experience in graphic design is required.
