JUNIOR PRODUCT DESIGNER OVERVIEW:

As a Jr Product Designer at Operative, you will be responsible for assisting senior members of the team in the design of the end-to-end product experiences. You’ll help craft elegant design solutions across a range of personas and platforms at global scale and collaborate closely with product and engineering partners. Jr Product Designer’s will work with senior members of the team to build skillsets and knowledge.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Share in ownership for the end-to-end product experiences and features.
  • Support senior members of the team in the user experience design of multiple small-to-mid-sized products.
  • Contribute to the vision for the organization.
  • Assist in the discovery, strategize concept design, and launch various phases of a project.
  • Work with members of the UX to help in creating prototypes or highly detailed wireframes for complex web applications.
  • Assist in championing user-centered design culture. Drive creative process and collaboration with cross-functional partners to propose new ideas and strategies.
  • Help raise the design bar for the organization.
  • Help create and drive adoption of design guidelines, mechanisms, best practices, process, and tools.


SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's degree in interaction design, human-computer interaction (HCI) related degree, or equivalent experience.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and storytelling
  • Experience in industry standard design tools (i.e. Figma, Sketch, Photoshop, Illustrator, Miro, etc)
  • A desire and ability to work with an incredibly diverse and talented team.
  • Ability and confidence to work in a team or solo environment.
  • Basic understanding of coding or development. HTML & CSS.
  • Designing to WCAG standards and Accessibility knowledge a plus.


*If you live w/in the metro NYC area, there will be a hybrid policy of 2 days per week (Tues/Thurs) in our Manhattan office. If outside of metro NYC area the role will be fully remote.


The base salary range is $60,000-$80,000. The annual performance bonus range is $3,000-$4,000. Salary ranges are determined through alignment with market data. The base salary amount offered is determined by a number of factors including the candidate’s experience, qualifications, and skills.
