Remote Design Operations Manager

Location: Englewood, CO (remote)

Pay: $35-$45hr based on Experience

Description:

Seeking design operations manager to help build a team of designers and design vendors to manage design workflow in order to support the sales, design and installation of residential photovoltaic systems. This position will collaborate with operations, supply chain and IT to establish targeted design automation. We specialize in residential new home construction

Responsibilities:

• Manage assignment of design work to third party providers
• Maintain even flow of design work order deliverables
• Coordinate design milestones with other department stakeholders and business functions
• Meet regularly with project managers to establish consistent utilization of due dates
• Balance delivery schedules with unit costs
• Manage Shade Studies through Contractors and internal resources
• Drive down cycle times through task prioritization and resource optimization
• Improve QA processes and standards to minimize design errors and re-work
• Train and Develop Design Support Staff.
• Improve Workflow Automation/ Optimization
• Manage correction requests and as built requests from Project Managers
• Manage AHJ requirement library to maintain low correction kickback rate

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

• BS electrical engineering, architecture or equivalent training or work experience
• 4 years in design, specification, and pricing of residential solar systems
• Proficiency in autocad, sketchup, MS word, Excel Vision and powerpoint
