We're delighted to be working with one of the UK's leading communications agencies, seeking an Design Manager to join their dedicated and expanding team.

As Design Manager Lead you will lead, inspire and guide the vision of the studio/design team, oversee the work of 4 designers, driving improvements in quality, performance and process. Whilst also being an active and contributing member of the design team.

This role requires leadership ability and you will work collaboratively across departments to manage and execute their vision, as well as develop a high performing and happy design/studio team by leading from the front.

You must have proven skills in communication, creativity, design and leadership. Time management across both digital and print, creative vision/artistic experience and having a keen eye for quality is essential. All candidates must be happy in a hands on management role where you will be delivering parts of the brief's yourself, and not looking for a strategic hands-off management position. Applicants are welcome from team leaders or senior designers with mentoring/leadership exposure looking to take the next step in their career.

To Be Successful In This Role, You Will Have

  • Strong knowledge of typography, image manipulation and PowerPoint
  • Broad understanding of marketing design and layout
  • Ability to take creative concepts and implement
  • Excellent design skills in Adobe Creative Suite and some PowerPoint experience
  • A reliable supply of original ideas, designs and visual deliverables
  • Confidence to explain and support your thinking, both internally and externally
  • A flexible approach and willingness to adapt your ideas to the needs of clients
  • Keen eye for visual details and accuracy
  • High levels of IT skills in the latest art and design packages
  • Good awareness of digital media and evolving online platforms
  • The ability to commute to the office in Letchworth twice a week (Mon & Wed)
