Are you a Design Manager or Technical Manager with a background in MEP? We have just secured a new position with contractor in Kent working on a number of projects across the South East. Position: Design Manager (MEP bias) Start date: February/March 2024 Contract duration: 12 months+ (permanent employment available) Location: Maidstone, Kent Pay rate: upto £440 per day Randstad contact: Mark Dixon (Maidstone branch) (phone number removed)The company: A multi-disciplinary contractor where key specialisms lay within refurbishment & conversion, major repairs & voids, new build, fit out schemes. Project reach up to £20 million in value but there is a bulk of work ranging within the £1-2 million in value. The role: As a Design Manager within the team you will add in the MEP specialism into the business unit. You will be responsible for but not limited to: Preparing stage reports, outlining design and feasibility. Build and maintain comprehensive design files. Production of designs Review, check and approve project related documentation. Assist the commercial team with procurement of specialist consultants and contractors. Produce and manage design risk registers. Production of design calculations. Attend client and associated stakeholds pre-construction and review meetings.To be successful in this role: Previous experience in a similar or the same role. Comprehensive MEP experience for either a Subcontractor or Principal Contractor is essential. Educated to HNC level in a MEP or Construction related field.
