Position Summary

The primary responsibility of the Web Designer role is to think creatively and deliver ideas that are outside the box to create great designs that reach above the status quo; ultimately creating websites that make our clients excited and proud of their online presence. Embracing FSM’s core values, a successful Web Designer candidate for FSM understands web design principles, user experience, and the business impact of what they do.

two days remote

and

three days

in the office (after a 90-day probationary period).

important discussion tool in interviews.Primary ResponsibilitiesWork collaboratively with a team of other designers, writers, and developers to create high-fidelity designs and prototypes that set our developers up for success using your designs as a guide as they build websites.Readily seek out, accept, and use constructive feedback from the FSM team and clients to improve and make revisions to designs; always seeking to delight clients and users alike.Use UX best practices for web when creating designs.Use and maintain design systems in an agency setting across many different clients all with their own unique brand.Evaluate copy for optimal UX and work with copywriters to revise when necessary.Create desktop and mobile designs, thinking critically about how a design will work across a variety of screen sizes.Design campaign landing pages.Meet with clients to present design work and share rationale for design choices, demonstrating the value that FSM provides to our clients.Manage and maintain a large volume of files and digital assets.Create impressive and outside-the-box designs for clients across a variety of industries, with an emphasis on B2B clients.Skill SetHighly proficient in using Figma to create components, variables, high-fidelity designs, and interactive prototypes.Highly proficient in using Adobe CC including XD, Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.Working knowledge of creating and using site maps and wireframes.Ability to think creatively and critically about client needs, requests, and business goals.Attention to detail.Success executing complex, large-scale design projects.Client-first, service-focused mentality.Ability to work independently as well as with a team.Preferred but not required:

Experience with tools like HotjarExperience designing email newslettersExperience in print design or other digital designExperience with other creative outlets (sketching, painting, graphic design, photography, etc.)
